Western Texas was FUN riding; twisty roads with some challenging grades, beautiful vistas and lots of motorcyclist who always gave us a wave. We must have been in a Monarch Butterfly migration path for around three days in mid Texas, we were riding through them, they would be all over our camps and Karlie said she murdered hundreds of them with the van which she felt very bad about. A lot of mid Texas was very depressed and one town we were counting on for services (water & food) was totally closed up/shut down/kaput!

East Texas was more diverse and green with rolling hills, pecan plantations and that's when the logging started. Its becoming more populated and therefore we no longer have to worry about carrying enough water and food. I feel like I need and interpreter while talking with some of the locals. A clerk in Honey Isle TX said there was an invention I really needed to know about...an engine!
