The Skinny

Okay, okay. We have been posting a LOT of pictures but how are we really doing?

Well, let's see. How would you be doing if you were climbing mtns in 105 degree heat day after day with sun so strong you tan through 60 spf sunblock and getting heat rash on top of that sun? (That's Cindy). What if you were doing it a 70 yrs young and never done more that a few days of long rides in a row? (Basil) What about if you've never seen the western mtns and never knew there are climbs out there that can last 30+ miles? (Bob) Or if you were the one feeling kind of responsible for all these guys cause you have the most experience? (Taz) Oh and our saviour! The one that shops for us and drives our junk from town to town. Once has saved one of us from the hallows of the desert. (Karlie!)

Ha! We Are rocking it! Yeah, we have to deal with all of the above as well as newbies cramping (pickle juice and pickles, salt tabs and nutrition lessons has cured that for the boys.) Everyone deals with the wake up times getting earlier and earlier to get going at day light to beat as much heat as possible, as we move across the time zone. Everyone helps out with the camp chores in one way or another.

As we move into our second week a routine has started to evolve. At camp as well as on the road. These guys are all riding strong now that the health wrinkles have been ironed out and everyone is getting to wake up with no alarms tomorrow as we are only doing 24ish miles over a big climb that has lots of construction on it. This should give everyone a chance to catch their breath and be ready to rock the next section through the last of the AZ Mtns and on into the NM mtns. Maybe they will even add to the blog posts!
